This revised edition of J. H. Kwabena Nketia’s Twelve Pedagogical Pieces became necessary during research conducted in preparation for Peter Henderson’s 2011 recording of the work -specifically on Monday and Tuesday, June 20–21, 2011. The original 1994 publication (Afram Publications, Accra, Ghana) contained several notational errors and omissions that required correction. Through conversations with the composer, Prof. Nketia, and pianist Peter Henderson, the pertinent issues were clarified and, in collaboration with the composer, a revised PDF edition prepared for scholars and performers.
