Five Kaleidoscopes for Piano

Kaleidoscope No. 1 captures a beehive before the bees move camps. A sonic metaphor for humanity’s restless pursuits… No. 2 is a tone poem of sorts. No. 3 is a romance, of the pure joy of being back in a lover’s arms, – AFRICA – beholding the landscapes, beauty, repose,… No. 4 indeed mirrors a dark Nubian folktale, of forbidden love and the coquettish but poetic dance of defiance. Technically, where chords seem too wide, each hand may liberally help the other – especially with the grace notes… No. 5 opens with a thunder clap in a storm, therefrom attending commotion, the frantic hunt for shelter, etc., relentless throughout!
